TILL THE BITTER END is a concept-led, visuals-only photographic zine printed on risograph in Cairo, Egypt. Designed by Egyptian-German artist Malak Kabbani, each "editions only" issue acts as a visual portfolio dedicated entirely to a single photographer without any accompanying text.
Launched during Photo London 2026, TTBE Issue Three brings together photographs and ephemera gathered over twenty years, made with people who trusted James Clifford Kent with their stories. At a moment when Cuba is being squeezed again, the work serves less as a historical record of a turbulent period on the Caribbean’s largest island and more as a record of what survival looks like when hope is repeatedly interrupted.
About Malak Kabbani
Malak is an Egyptian-German photographer based in London, working across portraiture, fashion and documentary. Rooted in people and place, her practice values instinct, natural moments and direct connection with her subjects.
